What we do on a Saturday working party.

Generally we meet at around 9.00 to 9.30 on the first Saturday of the month at the plot. A recent Summer Working Party decided to relocate some of the Tyvek weed suppressant material we have been using to make it more efficient. We have discovered that the practice of adding wood chipping to the pathways has resulted in considerable weed growth on the chipping, whereas areas free of chipping have been much more successful for us.

In addition to this we had enough volunteers on a recent  Saturday to weed the tree areas. It's amazing how many weeds can be pulled with a few eagle eyed people on the task.

As we have had some very dry weather too, some watering was thought prudent. It is said by some people that you cannot over water a tree!
