How does it work?
We buy our new trees annually as tiny 'whips', growing them on at our nursery at Gardner's Lane allotments until they are roughly 1-2 metres high.
November to February each year is our Dig-Your-Own season when we supply trees bare-rooted in
return for a donation.
Our trees are available singly, or in greater numbers as hedging. They go to gardens, schools, sports clubs and - through our links with Cheltenham Borough Council - some of Cheltenham's public spaces.
Choosing the right tree(s) for your space is important
and, although not experts, we are happy help.

What trees do we supply?
We have a good selection of mainly native British species, suitable for specimen planting or mixed hedging.
Our stock varies but typically includes beech, hornbeam, rowan, spindle, silver birch, blackthorn, buckthorn, dogwood, guelder rose, hawthorn, hazel and wild service.

At present a donation in exchange for a tree is £10-00 per tree.

How are we funded?
All our running costs – including new tree stock -
are covered by membership subscriptions,
currently £5 per year.
All donations we receive are given to tree-related charities, mainly in the developing world.

How are donations used?
-
Most of our donations go to Africa to support the planting of new trees that help with shade, soil stability and natural water filtration.
-
We also support projects in the UK , for instance to protect & maintain ancient orchards; to plant new
-
trees in areas where the public can have access
-
to enjoy them.
